"Get up off of the floor and help me pick out something to wear, will ya'?" Elliot rummages through the closet with a look of mild disgust. He doesn't understand why all of Lucas' clothes are stuff to fight monsters in. Nothing fancy, no clean linen shirts. Even for as anti-social as he is, E has a couple nice outfits for 'just in case' situations.

Lucas grumbles with his face against the floor, still sleepy from his too-long nap. With a stuttering mumble, the young man gives directions blindly through the closet, leading his grumpy-faced pal to two suits. One is in a suitbag, while the other is in a box. The price tag is still on the box.

Wiping the dust from the top of the box, Elliot rids it of its lid. Inside it a dark gray suit and tie, with silver cuff-links sitting on the top of the neatly folded bundle. The boy freezes, staring at the cuff-links. "Lucy."

"..ngh...Whut." The sleepy Exterminator raises his head to look at the box. He understands why his friend had stopped, now. He forgot that box was even there, and just seeing it makes his heart grow heavy and pained.

"Weren't you--" Elliot's gaze drops to his friend on the floor, ignoring the fact that Lucas is just in his boxer shorts.

By now, Lucas has sat up and made himself more aware of his surroundings. "Yeah, I was."

Just a second later and his friend is swiftly closing up the box and stuffing it back where he had found it. Instead of the boxed suit, he'll make Lucas wear the one in the bag. With the plastic sloughed off and it just hanging by a steel hanger skeleton, Elliot and Lucas both stare at a second-hand brown and white plaid suit, complete with a ruby red bow-tie. "Uh, dude?..."

"That's the suit my Aunt Sydney gave me for Prom." Lucas notes as he fends off the urge to laugh.

"Oh my God. This is horrible." But it is better than putting Lucas in the suit he would have gotten married in. They'll settle for hideous over heartbreaking.
