Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He's a pretty average height - 5'10. He can look taller than he actually is from a distance just on account of being a twig. He weighs around 130lbs, which is, as I understand it, pretty much a featherweight. Not that he hasn't tried to gain weight. Hell, in the past I'll bet he was one of those guys who seriously considered steroids and protein shakes and all kinds of shit. While he's certainly a strong little twig, he just can't seem to build the mass. (Doesn't help any that he has fairly broad shoulders, which makes him look even more underweight. Or that his partner is Rude e___e )
2. How old is he?
Thirty-one. He's had two birthdays in Discedo, so he was twenty-nine at the point I pulled him from. Not that he has a canon age.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He slouches a little - which is kind of funny to think about, because just describing someone as a sloucher tends to imply that they're unconfident or just generally uncomfortable, but he's not really either. He just kind of... hunches and his head sticks forward a little and. Yeah.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
It's worse since coming to Discedo, understandably. He does his best to keep in good shape though, but he won't talk about it. Even in Disc he keeps fairly regular excersize routines and the like. The fact that his eating and sleeping habits are kind of... sporadic doesn't really help any, though.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
He's occasionally clumsy, like any person. Buuut. There's a fluidity to him? Like- just that kind of grace a person has when they're comfortable in their own skin. When they're used to how it moves, and how it feels to do one thing instead of the other, y'know? I'd hesitate to call him graceful, though I guess that kind of fluidity and such is. He's just. confident. And it shows. He knows himself and he likes himself; and I guess that's extended to his movements.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Oh. Hahaha. He's good looking and he knows it. There is rarely, if ever, a day that goes past where he could look in th emirror and honestly think that's not a wildly attractive man looking back at him. Even if he's thinking, "man, I look like shit." It's really, "man, I look like shit. But I still look better than most of the people here."
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Olive-skinned? I guess. He's certainly not Paley McPalerson, and definitely not by Squeenix standards. He tans well - especially for a redhead, lmao. Mmmh, as far as complexion goes. His skin isn't perfect, of course. We can't all have faces like 12 year old girls, Cloud. But it's close enough that you'd have to get up close and personal to really see. He takes good care of himself c:
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
BIG? Lego. I think - in Disc I've been playing him as having hair that bright being natural, so we'll stick with that. And since everyone in FF7 has naturally soft and crazy hair, we'll stick with that too. Uh. It's really thick and it most assuredly doesn't style and spike itself like that on its own, but it gets close enough that he doesn't really have to put much work in it.
Saying that, mind. His hair has gotten crazy long in Disc on account of just. Not cutting it. So a lot of it is like, at his shoulders now. And if we throw a bit of me trying to gel OGC appearances with Compilation ones - his ponytail wasn't far past his shoulders when he got to Disc - so it's pretty much the length it was in AC now.
9. What color are his eyes?
Blue. Big blue eyes... With flecks of green, apparently.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
HE'S GOT THEM TATTOOS ON HIS FACE, MAN. Crazy bastard.
11. What are his chief tension centers?
His back/shoulders generally.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
ASIDE FROM THE SUITS, YOU MEAN? Back home, he has some formalwear, but it's mostly all casual junk. T-Shirts, jeans. All that crap. In Disc, his wardrobe pretty much mirrors that, only worse quality and none of it fits as well. He also has this ratty green jumper that's maybe two sizes two big and he kind of lives in it.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Comfort>all else, guys. His trousers are generally well fitted. Maybe a bit long or a bit loose, but not hugely so. His tops on the other hand range from fitted to stuff that totally swamps him. Though generally speaking, he won't wear anything more than two sizes too big. As long as he can move in it and it doesn't make him all nasty and clammy and shit, he's not too bothered.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
He doesn't generally wear a suit in his free time, no. Not that he really has any.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxers all the way, man.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
... So I totally had to go and get clips of Quinton Flynn playing him because I always hear him as Keiji Fujiwara in my head. It's definitely, uh. Not deep? God I really don't like Quinton's voice for him, BUT IF HE'S SPEAKING ENGLISH, THEN. LOOK CAN I SKIP THIS ONE I'M BAD AT DESCRIBING VOICES.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He's very... clear. When he speaks. He doesn't mumble and he doesn't slur. He doesn't really like to raise his voice or shout (I mean, he does, but he won't if he can help it - he sees it as losing control, which makes him look weak) but he projects very well? He's good at moderating his tone, how to shift it up or (more often) down a bit in pitch, how to make words just roll off his tongue or to bite them out. All that.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
NOT REALLY? I mean, he's pretty casual and informal - even when talking with superiors and people he respects. But there's nothing like that. Ummm. He breaks his speach up with pauses a lot. Just, "uhm"s and "er"s. Not that he needs to think on what he's got to say or anything, it's more out of habit.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
JUST ENGLISH. If I get into my headcanon, he speaks wutain/wutainese/whatever pretty fluently, but ahaha it even existing like a language is pretty much fanon, right? He speaks a little Japanese in Disc, on account of being friends with Bulma and then later living with Kakihara. He understands a lot more than he speaks, though.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
'Fraid not. Sometimes he'll randomly imitate Kakihara's accent, but that's about it.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He's good with the sudden talkings. He's the kind of person who can pretty much pull a speech out of his ass if he has to, unless he's feeling pretty mentally out of it. He doesn't often talk that much in one go - not like Rude who communicates cheifly in ellipses, but conversationally speaking he tends to be kind of terse and/or to the point. He doesn't like to beat around the bush or be superfluous.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
As I said, he has a distaste for being superfluous, but he's good with his words. He knows how to explain himself and stuff in most areas except er. Where emotions are concerned. Not so much that he doesn't know them as he just mentally shuts down and defaults to either "I'm fine," or "I'm not talking about this," where his ~emotions~ are concerned. The negative ones, at least.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Pretty intelligent in both realms, really. Obviously not a genius, but he's a hell of a lot smarter than he lets on. If you want to get into my headcanon he had a particular affinity for maths and science growing up. Street smarts is more where he excels these days, though. Which helps, considering as a Turk, he operates mostly in the field. He's good at reading people and situations and healthy doses of both experience and intuition mean that more often than not he knows how to act accordingly too. He retains information well, which is probably his main asset in these kinds of things.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Ahaha, oh man. Half of what Reno does is totally him thinking it all up on the fly. It generally works well for him, which is lucky, but yeah. He's not the time to sit on his hands and think things through for days on end or anything. He kind of thinks the more time you give yourself to think up flaws and the like, the more problems you, yourself are going to create. Things are more likely to wrong if you expect them to, y'know? Plus when you overthink, you're likely to sit and scratch off plans that aren't 'good enough' when they were likely the best ones you came up with.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
He likes to think himself a logical being, but he's more intuative than anything. Certainly there's a logic to his thought processes, but he feeds more off the situation and his surroundings than he actually thinks about any about it. He's pretty much constantly guaging things subconciously. Watching the way people act and move, how things are happening around him, blah blah blah.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
GETTING ALL HEADCANONY AGAIN. He just barely graduated high school. On account of being a lazy ass - he was more than capable of keeping up with the work.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
HE'S INTERESTED IN EVERYTHING. Uh. He kind of lives in a, "jack of all trades, master of none," kind of world. He can pick a lot of things up and get to at least a novice level with them fairly easily. I suppose if you wanted to get all, "HE'S BEST AT THIS," then I guess it's probably stuff like gathering information, and, uh... Making sure no one else gets their hands on it. Of course, given the close nature of Discedo, he's never really gotten to display this second part.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Totally an extrovert. Actually, I suppose he's really both? On a basic level he's very showy, he has no problems being the centre of attention and talking about himself and how great he is. But beyond that, he's incredibly private. He doesn't talk about his life, his feelings, his relationships, etc. He keeps himself to himself beyond the basics, so. I suppose that does make him an extrovert, really. I mean - just look at him.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
He's incredibly laid-back. It takes a lot to ruffle his feathers or to get under his skin, more often than not he just rolls with the punches. That said, he can be incredibly passionate and driven when he wants to be. When he wants something, it really lights a fire under his ass. Especially if there's a challenge involved. Honestly, he can be outright predatory when it comes down to it. He's a totaly cynic too, by the by. Harsh realist bordering on pessimism and all that. He's kind of... Aim for the sky, but understand you may not get further than the roof where work and all that is concerned.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He's. Relaxed AND suspicious? There isn't much that'll put him on edge, really, so he tends to keep his cool and take it all in stride. But he's not trusting of... well anything or anyone, really. Taking things on face value gets you dead. As far as people go, he pretty much has to know someone inside out or know it's in their best interest not to backstab him before he could fathom trusting them.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
BOTH? Gosh, that's a touch question. Sometimes, he really like to sit back and observe before he'll do anything. Sometimes he'll just totally make the first move. And other times what he does is almost entirely reactionary and based on instince/emotion rather than any kind of thought. So, er. Yeah. Both.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
BOTH. AGAIN? I suppose his default is fight. He's got a lot of pride and he's very confrontational (not to mention so much bottled up RAGE in Discedo) which leads to him taking things head on. That said, he also (usually) knows when he's outmatched and he's certainly not afraid to cut his losses and take off in the middle of something either. Though often that means he wasn't taking it entirely seriously in the first place.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Schadenfreude. Totally. He loves it, man. He also kind of has a soft spot for really horrifically bad jokes. The kind you get in christmas crackers when you're six. His own humour, I suppose, tends to lean towards total deadpan sarcasm and kind of... making people the butt of the joke. Oh yes.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

NOT MUCH? Not like a badass who doesn't fear anything, but more like in a really sad kind of way that dictates almost... boredom with life?

Sob he's boring he doesn't have any. He lives in the moment. As far as Discedo's concerned, he's torn between desperately wanting to get back home and trying to figure out what the shit is going on.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
UHM. Stuff to do with his life, I guess. He doesn't like people knowing personal things about him in general.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Hnnngh *breaks out the headcanon* it was good. Not without any bumps, obviously, but they got along well, had a good relationship. He hasn't seen them since he was sixteen, though. Firstly on account of moving home and just never having the time, and then he severed all contact when he was snapped up by the Turks. They think he's dead.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope!
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nopers /o/
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
The Turks, I guess, are his surrogate family now. I suppose he treats them like siblings? WHO'S TO SAY. Although lol he and Rude seem to take a pretty parental stance when talking about Elena.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
I GUESS it's Rude. I have no idea how they met. Canon never explores that. It's just THEY KNOW EACHOTHER AND THEY WORK WELL TOGETHER.
6. Does he have other close friends?
THE OTHER TURKS?! He's probably nowhere near as close to the other just on account of not having to spend as much time with them, though.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He can get along with people pretty well if he wants to. He doesn't get close to people though, he's pretty emotionally distant (conciously so) and holds people at arms' length. He seldom gets really attached to anyone, but as far as banter and making a few bonds go, he's good at that.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
WELL. I guess if you take the whole Turks are his family blah blah blah thing into account, then Family>everyone else.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
HNN. He doesn't do serious relationships really. Like, at all. It's pretty much been, "if the sex is good, let's keep this going," for him for a damned long time. THAT SAID, HOWEVER. In Discedo he's in this weird, "we're-kind-of-like-a-married-couple-only-not-really-at-all-and-it's-sort-of-an-open-relationship-too" thing with Kakihara. So. Yeah.

Oh gosh. His first crush was probably some girl he went to school with. His LAST one though? I dunno. I mean, he wasn't even particularly infatuated with Kakihara. Attracted, yes. Painfully so. But that's different.

KEEP OUT OF MY BUSINESS OKAY.
I dunno - he doesn't do romance so he doesn't look for anything.

No. God, never.

Not so much, no. I suppose there's people like Cloud who damaged his ego a good bit. He really doesn't like Cloud. :c Also Yazoo - especially in discedo. And Ocelot. The bastard.

He's pretty much a 3. To be completely honest, even though he does prefer women, sex is like a secondary factor in attraction for him. Tertiary, even. The things he notices first is more along the lines of how a person holds themself. The way they move, the way they speak. Even little things like the way someone might brush a hand through their hair when they want to say something but they're not sure. That's more what causes instant attraction to him. Not to say OH HE DOESN'T NOTICE THE SEX, HE DOESN'T CAAAAARE. But more often than not, it's really not something he considers much until they're getting down to the mechanics of the whole thing.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
He enjoys sex. He enjoys it a lot. It's fun, it feels good and he's good at it. But at the same time... he can live without it? I mean, taking Discedo into account. The thought didn't really cross his mind all that much until sex became available to him that he even realised how long it had been. Hell - and gosh, do I feel weird bringing this up - but even where masturbation was concerned, it was more about HNNNGH SO MUCH STRESS NEED TO BLOW OFF STEAM OH GOD than actual getting off? If that makes sense? Like, honestly, if he never had sex again, he'd certainly miss it. But at that same time, it's not like it's cigarettes or coffee, y'know?
Like - even taking his current relationship into account. If you take the logged threads we've done, he's not often the one to initiate things. He's usually thinking about something else and then, "Oh- yeah, sex is fun. Let's do that! c:" Though I SAY that, but he's probably the one who wakes Kakihara up in the middle of the night like, "dude I have a boner, let's do this :|"
