[WELL SINCE HE HAS NO IDEA YOU'RE AWAKE. Reno's just going to keep doing what he's doing. Which... isn't really much except sitting on the floor being uncomfortable and mildly angsty.]
[And here is Kakihara abruptly sitting up, slipping his feet into his shoes, and standing (almost too quickly for him to handle). Maybe pretending to be asleep is too much to ask himself to do at the moment. He seems to barely give anything around him a glance, communicator in hand, now being shoved into his pocket. He doesn't bother to snag the tattered black shirt he was wearing off the chair it was draped over and limps quickly past Reno on the floor, not even looking at him on his fast and unsteady way to the door.]
[Kakihara almost keeps moving when Reno steps in front of him, nearly colliding with the man. For a moment it's as if he's staring through him- he seems to be looking at his chest as if he just materialized there and he's not sure what the hell he is, until he looks up at his face. His gaze flickers as though he's realized something, then remains blank. He can't do it anymore, this hospital is a nightmare and now he's just angry. But all he can do is stand and wait, hands jammed securely into his pockets.]
[If it seemed like just the hospital, Reno would gladly have moved. Hell, he'd go with him. But it seems like more than that- or maybe he's just being paranoid.
And now he's not really sure of what to do, so...]
[He takes a step forward, as if that would even work, and stops barely an inch away from Reno's face. He doesn't bother attempting a fight, he knows not only is it pointless but in this condition he'll lose, he only glances away and remains silent for a moment.]

[And suddenly Kakihara decides to smile, the smirk spreading, eerily slow across his face. He tips his chin forward and tilts his head- a "come on, you can tell me" kind of expression.]

[He takes a slight step back, wanting a little distance between the two of them before he speaks, not that he's even sure he knows what he wants to say right now. He's just that pissed off he knows this probably won't end well.]
I asked a fucking question, okay? I'm sorry if it bugs you, but I've got shit to think about besides whether or not you're bleeding to death in an ally somewhere.
[He starts to say something more, but decides against him. Cutting himself off abruptly and brushing past Kakihara to go back into the room and gather any of his stuff he's left behind, grumbling something about that "patronizing son of a bitch," as he does so. If Kakihara's not staying, there's not much point in him staying put either]
Of course. No consequences for you. You won't even remember me, or worry when I don't want you to anyway.
[When Reno brushes past him, Kakihara nearly falls down because of his state smiles and tilts his head back, almost satisfied with what he'd just done. Confrontational bastard, always pleased to make someone upset. Reno had upset him, after all. Yeah, as if that was intentional.
But it doesn't last long.
He thinks back to when Reno had returned to the apartment three months before... What had he thought then? That it wasn't fair to burden Reno with having to be responsible for both of them when he was in so much trouble himself. Now he feels sorry... He won't show it, but he does. Instead he turns for a moment and watches Reno angrily take up his things, unsure what to do at this point save for shut up and leave this hospital.
The damage was done. He turns his back but doesn't seem to be going anywhere, as if he's waiting on Reno. The first hint that he's probably feeling completely different than he was a moment ago. And

[Oooh that comment gets at him and he tenses noticeably, but Reno doesn't reply or comment on anything anymore. It's not until he goes about fishing his communicator from where it had fallen under the bed when he got up that he even realises Kakihara is still there. He casts a glance over his shoulder, but doesn't say anything then, either. Not until he retrieves his shirt from where he'd left it to dry the other night and notices Kakihara still standing in the doorway.]
[Kakihara is unsure of just what to do in this moment. It always threw him off when he felt bad about something. It was rare that he even remembered he was capable of feeling guilty at all, and even then it was always easy to get over if there was some kind of means to an end. But when Reno was involved, he dealt with things like this a lot of times. Things that often reminded him that he was human and that he could feel. All the things he'd chased after with sharp edges and chains. Shit, even these bad feelings were things that he craved.
Kakihara doesn't turn around, just stands there leaning up against the door frame. He draws his shoulders up, finally noticing the chill against his bare skin and sighs.]
[He stops what he's doing for the moment and looks over at Kakihara, giving a short laugh of disbelief. He's not really sure if it's his own nature or if Kakihara just has that effect on him, but it's almost frustrating how he can't seem to keep his temper where he's concerned.
Sighing, Reno finishes pulling on his shirt and moves over to the doorframe and leans on the other side, looking over at Kakihara with what could be discerned as a smirk maybe if you looked really hard.]
[Kakihara doesn't bother to hide behind a ghost of a little smirk. He just smiles because he knows he can get away with it, eyes gleaming a bit with that usual mischief and defiance of his. And theeen he glances down at his chest- just a quick peek- a little disappointed that he's no longer half naked, but it's not like he deserves to enjoy himself at this moment. He should have taken it as a hint to get his own shirt on, but it's ragged anyhow.
Instead he takes this opportunity to lean in towards Reno, leaning on the doorframe just over Reno's head like he tended to do when the redhead was propped up against anything. He doesn't chance a kiss. Reno may appear calm, but he tends not to press his luck after he does something like this. As much as he enjoys that kind of thing, he isn't currently craving a punch in his cracked ribs.]
Let's just... tuck this comm back under the pillow there and go back to pretending to be asleep.]
