Well actually we got home lateish on the 1st. Where were we? Well one of my bestest ever friends,
Sylina got married to the ever wonderful
Darren.
I flew out to Saskatoon bright and early (7am) on May 24th as a bit of a surprise. When I got there, Mom picked me up at the airport and took me directly home as she was under strict orders from my sister who had to work that afternoon but wanted to see me first. We got home, hung out with Katie for awhile and had lunch. Then Katie had to leave for work and Mom and I went over to my Gramma B's for a visit. After supper, I headed over to
Jenny's to make a choclate cheese cake and help prep some of the fruits she had picked up for the chocolate fondue for the stagette on the 25th.
The next day, I headed out to get my hair cut (I even put highlights and lowlights in and if I say so myself it looks awesome) and then down to Broadway to meet Jen at the 7-11 and head over to the Broadway Cafe. As I wasn't supposed to have been able to make the stagette (I wasn't supposed to get to Saskatoon until about midnight on the 25th but due to the awesomeness of the schedulers at work I was able to get away early), I put on Jen's bunnyhug and waited until Sylina got there to surprise her. We made her cry she was so happy :)
The stagette was awesome. So very much fun. I won't go into detail as what happens at a stagette stays at a stagette hehe.
On Saturday I hung out with family most of the day I think. Then Sunday Jer and I headed up to Regina to see my Gramma and Grampa S. They're both looking pretty old and it made me sad. It was really nice to see them 'cause I miss them lots. We stayed over night and then left on Monday morning.
Got home, called Sylina to see about dress fittings. Found out that I was to go on Tuesday morning. Blah blah blah lets skip to the fun part :)
On Wednesday night, I headed over to Sylina's Mom's place after supper with my family, Auntie Cathy, Dave and Lorna (nice to see them all!). We had a sleepover, not that we got much sleep (and I got more then Jen and Sylina 'cause I passed out as usual). It was really nice to get to spend so much time with them as I miss them both like crazy and it was just like old times. I know people drift apart but it's been almost 5 years and it's the same as it's ever been. We then work up at about 7am and went in to get ready for everything. Grabbed some food, Sylina, her Mom and Grandma headed over to the salon for hair/makeup etc and we (me, Jen, Stacy and Marj) waited for our hair/makeup people. And waited. Finally they showed up and got to business. I went last and helped load all the stuff into the motorhome, helped to keep Merrick (Sylina's nephew) from getting too terribly bored and did other random stuff.
Finished with the hair and makeup. Got into the gorgeous bridesmaid dress Sylina picked out (You have absolutely impeccable taste my dear!) and hopped into the motorhome for the ride out to the Forestry Farm. We got there in one piece and pulled the blinds so the boys couldn't see us. Then we waited for the JP to show up. Apparently he thought that the wedding was still at 3pm and not 2pm oops. We got started at about 2:15ish I think. The ceremony was pretty quick and then we took about a million pictures and headed back into the hall for a flipping amazing meal of pirogies, cabbage rolls, and allllllllllllll the trimmings and more. So much food and so very tastey! Then it was onto the dance. Jer and I had to leave fairly early 'cause we hadn't packed and were going home the next day after a morning after lunch/breakfast of tastey Mexican food.
We got home and I posed for a picture for my Mommy who loved the dress. Went and packed everything up and fell into bed. Woke up in the morning got ready, packed the last of everything and piled it into the car. Then headed over to EE Burrito. Ate with a buncha people including Marj (
chocolate_x) and Stan (
tongue_x) who were able to make it even tho the contractions were about an hour apart.
It was really nice to see everyone and I miss you all already. I'm pretty sure Jer does too 'cause he told me that he had a really good time even tho I dragged him all over the city and he didn't have much time to relax :)
