OK, so Ai-Lun came out to visit me 2 weeks ago. And she wanted to go to Beijing this weekend to meet one of her friends or something. She left this morning. The plan was that I'd fly out Friday evening, and come back either on Sunday or Monday, depending on the work schedule.
At 10am this morning, the customer decided that they want to do a demonstration test starting tomorrow at 8am. 22 hours notice, who ever heard of that? The contract specifies 72 hours for a performance test, but since it's just a demonstration test, it can be as long as they want. They're going for the full 72. Let's see... Friday 8am + 72 = Monday 8am. Crap-tacular. Now, I worked my ass off today so we can try to get this thing started ASAP so that we finish on Monday, and I could fly down on Tuesday, and possibly stay until Sunday. There's a whole bunch of risks with that plan, but, frankly, I doubt we'll start on Friday, meaning I probably can't go on Tuesday, so it's all moot.
Ai-Lun is planning on heading back to Taipei after Beijing, although she could extend her stay in Beijing for another week if she knew I'd be able to come down, but the odds are against her... and me.
If we don't have this test started on Sunday morning, I will kill someone... seriously.
