...subsection e^pi*i.
For a little while, I've been thinking that I should actually put some effort into learning chinese. But, you know me, I'm pretty lazy, even when it comes to things I'm "passionate" about. Besides, the task of learning a language is pretty daunting to me. So much memorization, and I hate memorizing, and I don't think I'm any good at it. About a week ago, I thought I should at least learn all the phrases I thought useful in my
Lonely Planet guidebook for Taiwan. There aren't too many, so it's concievable.
Yeah, I didn't get started on that. So, my new goal is to learn 3 things every day or 2 (not counting days I see Ai-Lun). 1 new phrase, 1 new word (something useful, like a verb or noun), and one new (but simple) Chinese character. First, however, I wanted to list the words I already know, because one of my problems in languages (as well as swing dancing) is that I always forget the list of what I know, so I never practice half the stuff I know, and eventually, I don't know it anymore! convoluted but true.
So,
here's the list. Nearly incomprehensible because of my tone notation... I'll clean it up some day...
