Today I spent several hours trying to get a little closer to nature.
After a long period sitting and thinking in a quiet area of Glastonbury Abbey, we went to the Westhay Nature Reserve and took a walk through leafy lanes and alongside lakes filled with wildlife.
To those who know me well, you will know this is not the way I usually spend my Sundays, but of late I have felt a call to get closer to nature and am realising how beautiful it is. So why has it taken me 52 years to realise this?
The colours seem so vibrant, and the trees seem so alive and willing to communicate with us (no, I'm not losing my marbles lol!) and it's almost as if Mother Nature herself is showing us what we may all lose soon if we don't care for what we have around us.
Remember we are just tenants of the this Earth we live on, and we must hand it over in good condition to the generations that follow us. For that reason it is time to START caring and stopping those that are killing it.
