Dusting off the cobwebs and getting back in the driving seat!

Jul 24, 2009 10:17

Most of you may know that I stepped down as MD of Glastonbury Radio a while back, leaving someone else to run the company and having a break for long days and major stress. This week however, I was asked by the major shareholders to take back the MD role and drive the company forward.

I won't go into the reasons why this has happened, but new challenges face us, and with some very big expansion plans, I have had to draw up a new business plan this week which I actually quite enjoyed.

Glastonbury Radio started in March 2007 and has been on air 24 hours a day 365 days a year ever since, staffed by volunteer presenters and currently unpaid senior management! So it has been challenging to say the least.

Now however, online digital radio is overtaking DAB and actually competing with FM as the very future of the way people listen to the radio, and that means we have to expand, bring in new technology as it is developed and make sure we  stay ahead of the game.

We are now seeking between £100 - £250k of venture capital or "angel" funding and have to make sure we get someone with the right energies as well as the money, to help take us to the next stage of our growth and development. So exciting times ahead.

Whilst I return to the driving seat, I shall be wiping off the dust of the previous weeks, moving on from the crap on the Glastonbury Rumour Mill and showing people that neither me or Glastonbury Radio are going anywhere!

Tune into my FEEL GOOD FRIDAY radio show today at Midday - 2 p.m. online at www.glastonburyradio.net
