Our laws need changing urgently......
Some months ago on my radio show, I gave airtime to a guy called Brian Howes whom friends had told me was facing extradition to the USA and wanted to tell the story of how the claims were false and he was allegedly innocent.
On the show, he talked about how he and his wife would "commit suicide" rather than face extradition and the expected 20 year jail sentence. This statement backfired on him, because rather than get the sympathy of my audience as he had hoped, they turned on him as they felt that no loving father of five would do such a thing with a very young family at home. He now has to sign in for bail three times a day at Edinburgh Police Station.
He is charged with selling chemicals to make "crystal meth" and the State of Arizona have worked with Cleveland Police in the UK to bring charges and a call for his extradition to face trial n America.
Since the radio interview he has been attacking, defaming and libelling me on social networking sites, forums and by e-mails to friends and business aquaintances. This then turned to threats so I reported him to the police, but they seem powerless to assist, and I now have to spend money taking the man to the civil courts for damages and for an injunction.
The man has also been accused of abusing a six year old girl and the judge describes him as "a danger to young girls" in this document:-

There is alittle doubt that we need a change in the law to protect us from these kind of people and their "online wars", as there seems to be a lopphole that allows this kind of harassment without criminal prosecution! I have today written to my local MP requesting that the government be forced into changing the law as soon as possible.
In the meantime, this dangerous man lives at home with five young children - and Social Services LET that happen!! These children may be in grave danger!
