So, the latest on the list of Obscure Small Fandoms I Have Fallen Hard For is From Eroica With Love: a 1970s manga of Cold War era wacky spyjinks, based around the adventures of a flamboyantly gay English Earl who moonlights as an art thief, and his futile attempts to woo the volatile homophobic German NATO Major who is not happy about being the love of his life. I posted
some excerpts from the first two volumes over at
scans_daily.
Klaus pushes a number of my favourite character buttons, not least because you can build a very convincing case for him being canonically asexual. I have been mentally plotting out all kinds of fic, and may even get around to writing some of it.
I'm also quite tempted to cross it over with Alias, which is where my mind goes when it comes to Cold War related international spyjinks. The cracktastic ridiculousness of the Rambaldi plot would fit right in to the Eroica world, as would Marshall Flinkman. And I expect Klaus would appreciate Jack Bristow's attitude.

In other fannish news, updating of
nomads_gen_recs has been a tad erratic of late; I haven't lost interest, it's just that since the start of the Yuletide season much of my reading has been in fairly obscure fandoms I'm not sure anyone else is interested in and where there isn't necessarily a lot of gen, so my waiting list of stuff-to-be-recced has become a bit depleted.

Edit: very sad to hear about the too-young death of
Robin Sachs. I adored him as Ethan Rayne in Buffy, and he popped up in a ton of different genre shows, including multiple appearances in Babylon 5. I feel awful for the surviving cast and crew of that show. So many people that they worked with gone too soon.
