I have returned to the Internets... and also to school.
I still don't have all of my stuff moved in, but I'm more or less done except for a few books and trying to figure out where the microwave goes. I don't really use the microwave a whole lot, but often enough that I don't want to store it and get it out every time. The trouble, you see, is that unlike my previous room in Anderson Hall (jock dorm), my furniture in Collier Hall (super-awesome-better-than-yours dorm) is actually attached to the walls and floor. Honestly, I'm impressed. Usually no one thinks to secure objects I might rearrange to multiple surfaces. They did, however, make the mistake of leaving the beds alone. Mayhap that will be enough loose furniture to max/min the room for the most versatile living space possible.
I had this little list of stuff I needed to take care of. You know, papers to sign, decals to stick to things, that sort of stuff. I got about half... or a quarter of it done. Some fraction or other was involved. Added to my list was tracking down my TBF [Tiger Band Fledgling] for the AAF [Adopt A Fledgling] program. It's something Dr. Pete thought up over his breakfast at 4:30 in the morning, I'm sure. It seems, based on his carefully created chart, that I have adopted one of these Fledglings. I didn't find the guy today. I didn't try REALLY hard, but I made a passing effort. I may have to send for a replacement if he's going to make me walk around.
I didn't do much this summer. I had this whole scheme at the beginning, and somehow it all fell apart. It probably had something to do with the paper deciding not to hire exactly the applicant they asked for (funny, the guy who hires people didn't show up for work for two weeks) and Stephanie trapping me in her Directing 101 class. In any case, supposedly I took care of a whole college class when I directed The Class, a short play in a series the students did. Also, I'm hoping to go to Florida for an apprenticeship next summer so I can get some papers that say I can do what I mostly already do. Which is not to say I wont pick up plenty of useful knowledge. Dr. Pete wants me to get certified to set up and use indoor pyrotechnics as well so we can blow stuff up during concerts... or just when we're bored.
