2 weeks
So,
In the next two weeks I visit 5 schools, most of which (actually all but 1) are in trouble or on thin ice with either us or their University.
Awesome.
But...I managed to finagle some vacation into my schedule so I'm going home for easter, its not so much that I'm homesick I just need a break from even thinking about work (which is something I can't do in Lexington).
While I'm home I will:
Have Deep Dish Pizza, a Chicago Hot Dog, Portillos, etc
Party downtown on Friday night (Mystic Celt for the Chicagoans reading this)
Go to a Sox/Twins game at Comisky (rock on!)
Have drinks at either the Gables or Muldoons (hometown bars)
see the Parents (that will be interesting)
see other HS/College Friends
It's a welcome surprise. I didn't get to see enough people over Christmas, and I really need to get the ball rolling on Summer planning for weddings and bachelor parties so it will be good to get that done.
I just decided this week that I'm not going to continue doing this position next year, I'll still be working for Fiji, just in a different role. I can't help but feel happy and sad, while I'm not going to miss the shitty parts of this job (because all jobs have them), I will miss the independence and randomness of the job.
Fun fact: this June I move into my 4th address in 4 years (6th in 7 years...). On the upside mail from my current address still gets to me (as it is my office).
