Hero with a Thousand Faces- Joseph Campbell- one hero with a thousand identities-something in the human mind
Lord Raglin-diplomat from Britain who collected stories from different cultures-the earth has one basic hero
Examples of heroes-Darth Vadar, Luke Skywalker, King Arthur, Merlin, Oedipus -Greek for "club-footed"(one that fulfills most of the criterea), Moses- Slaughter of th Innocents, Superman

Archetypes are a gasp of recognition

Fugitive is another archetype- commits a crime, flees and is pursued by authorities, forced to wander due to the crime. Examples: Odysseus, Harrison Ford, Jean Valjean

Myths have three major parts so says Aristotle- beginnings, middles, and ends

Old stories are the best
