It is such a shame that it is usually "either or". I mean I have met some guys who would be great boyfriend material (really smart, mature, common interests) and are my age. But there was just never any reciprocity. I guess the lesson is that for the most part, geeks don't want other geeks. Or maybe the lesson is that I shouldn't try going after Georgia Tech boys, no matter how smart they may be.

But there is a saying we economists have which you might want to keep in mind: irrational expectations. As sad as it may seem, you might be asking too much too soon for guys from our peer group to be capable of being involved in a significant emotional relationship, and to be smart and mature.
