So, as it turns out, my cholesterol is, like the lolcat's, through the roof. I've got a genetic predisposition for heart disease; my grandfather had his first heart attack at 40 and was dead by 46, thirteen years before I was born.
SO! In an attempt to avoid the train wreck of poor health, I've stopped eating out for the most part, and have completely eliminated fast food from my diet. The food I prepare is mostly fibrous vegetables and whole grains, and the meat I eat is lean and in smaller portions. All told, it's a pretty easy lifestyle change. The food I make is delicious, and I've been dropping a few pounds. And it's had the added bonus of improving my acid reflux a bit.
Here's to living past the next ten years!
And vote Ron Paul!
...kidding on that last bit.
