So, first off let me just say that I am SUPER bummed that summer is over, and my fall semester started last week. Regardless of it feeling currently like a sauna outside here in Philadelphia, I still hate saying goodbye to summer. #summertimesadnessforREAL .
But since I haven't written in this in a very LONG time, let's recap on how awesome this summer was :)
***WARNING: PICTURES THAT WILL MAKE YOU WISH IT WAS SUMMER BELOW***
So, I got to go on a cruise with my boyfriend Amit. <3
Norwegian Cruise Line "The Norwegian Gem"
WHICH WAS AWESOME!
We went to Orlando, Florida....
Universal Studios, Island of Adventures
Along with the Bahmamas....
Nassau, Bahama (BLUE LAGOON BEACH)
Great Stirrup Cay, Bahama
But really, the best part was being able to spend 7 days straight with my Best Friend !
Nassau, Bahama
Anyways.. the cruise ended and really, what is a summer without summer classes in graduate school? So after the cruise was done and over with, back to Philly I went. This past summer, the classes were not as bad as last summer where I had to disect a human brain! (Gross, I know...) Instead, this summer I got to do client home-visits and come up with adaptations for my clients. Overall, I'll be brief.. it was enjoyable and a wonderful experience thanks to the clients I had who were wonderful. Not to mention, it made me feel one step closer to becoming an Occupational Therapist!
After my summer classes were done and over with, I had about a two week break before my fall semester began.
This fall semester marks my last full academic year of me in the classroom. For me, it is wild to think that come this May I will begin three months of my level II fieldwork, followed by September 2015, in Baltimore completing my last three months of level II fieldwork. It's as if I am so close to the finish line, but not at the same time! I'll be done everything though as December 2015, and will be able to sit for the boards then. This semester though seems intense with two intervention courses (along with a crap load of other courses). I also have fieldwork at a hospital within the local area, which will be a great learning experience I am sure.
September also looks pretty busy because I am in the mist of planning my 26th birthday. (Scary to think I'm GOING to be 26, and even scarier that I have been out of high school for.. drum roll please....8 YEARS!) For my birthday this year, I am thinking of skipping the clubs and fancy dinner and just going to hershey park with my boyfriend and a few close friends of mine for the day. (What better way to bring in 26 then a Chocolate themed amusement park!!!). It's funny to think that in high school, I would have NEVER pictured me still being in school, let alone going for something like Occupational Therapy at 26. Oh well, can't lie.. I'm pretty proud of where I am and all the things I know I am going to do.
Til next time livejournal....
