Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if it's been circulated around here lately, but tomorrow is the official release date of
The Fat Studies Reader, a new semi-academic anthology that discusses many, many aspects of fat life and culture, all from a fat-positive viewpoint. It's edited by the brilliant Sandra Solvay and Esther Rothblum and has an intro by Marilyn Wann. There are about 40 chapters in it, with more than 50 authors, and they deal with politics, law, health, visual, literary, and performance arts, identity, clothing, and more. I have yet to see it in person, but my copy should be coming any day now.
Susan Stinson has reviewed parts of it here. I encourage anyone interested to ask their school and public libraries to buy a copy so you can borrow it from them! Or buy it for yourself!
