(Branching down here before it gets cramped.)

Perceptor did indeed notice the slight change in the way his counterpart was holding himself, his fingers stilling briefly as he watched the scientist work. He couldn't claim to know exactly what was going on inside the other's processor but he himself knew that anytime something like that was said, he couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit offended. He knew Jazz meant not harm but...

Absently his hand brushed against Percy's as he began to work again, a slight 'It's alright' sort of gesture as the sniper once more focused on the task at hand.

"I do not believe this is your Well of Allsparks, Chromia, if you will pardon my intrusion on the conversation," he spoke up after the femme had said her piece, not bothering to glance up. "I believe there is something else going on entirely."

Perceptor would have offered some comfort to Jazz-- if he knew how to do so for the odd Autobot, or thought that it might have been accepted in the least. He had no expectation of success for either, though, and so merely did the only thing he can: he continued his repair work. He did, however, offer his counterpart a thin flicker of a smile of gratitude for that small gesture of comfort ( ... )

"It hurt like the Pit." Jazz admitted freely. "But otherwise my memory cuts off right there. Next thing I know I was fallin' an' then I made this lovely crater right here."

He gestured with his free hand and twitched again as one of the Perceptors twigged something sensitive inside of him. "I have ta agree with ya. Kinda empty for the Well. There's at least a couple people I'd like to see again."

Jazz paused then added. "What do the two of ya call the afterlife if not the Well?"

Their comments on the population made sense. She had seen enough good mech die and killed enough bad one that there should at least be one bot in view at all times, assuming this place was the size of the real Iacon. Although, it was possible that maybe everyone was amassing somewhere. They'd find out one way or another.

"Just because you don't know about sometime doesn't mean it doesn't exist," she pointed out to the two Perceptors. She didn't know much about science, but even though she lacked the knowledge didn't mean parts of it didn't exist.

"It just is," the sniper responded to Jazz, halting in his repair work as he looked up at the two bots. "Perhaps further back in our mythos it had a more distinct name and description but there is no name to refer to it by. And you are quite correct, Chromia, but I am a scientist, just as my counterpart is. Proof means everything," he explained, head tilting just a touch. "Am I correct in assuming that you believe this to be the well because you were offlined in your reality?"

He wasn't trying to pry, the question was asked merely in an inquisitive manner because if it was true...that made this place even more intriguing to him. Dead mechs and live ones all arriving in the same place...Most curious.

To be perfectly honest, Perceptor had never given much thought at all about any sort of "afterlife". He barely gave lip service to the standard credo of "'Til all are One," in fact. This life, this tangible life, could be measured, quantified, studied. Any sort of "afterlife"... well... could not. Not yet, at any rate.

He shrugged, nodding in agreement to his counterpart's observation. "Ours is a long-lived race, though," he replied to Chromia as he continued working. "And in those eons of existence, there are no records than anyone has ever returned from any sort of this 'afterlife' to speak of it."

"There are forms of matter and energy which I cannot directly observe, and yet, I accept their existence because I am able to observe the effects which they impose upon forms which I am able to observe. In the same manner, I am unable to observe any sort of 'afterlife'... however, neither have I detected any effects upon some form of existence which I am capable of observing. Perhaps a means to make these detections has yet to be ( ... )
