Inferno had absolutely no idea where he was going. The sensory grid he had told Shockwave he had was a complete lie, but his bravado pushed him forward more in search of his missing Queen.
Despite all protests from their newest prisoner potential member to the Royalty's army (those sensory nets the red and white maximal traitor spoke of were a complete lie. One he was clearly using to hide the Queen's actual location), the fire ant led his small gathering onward into city's center through a wide, shadowed passageway. The gun he dragged was heavy, stolen from the car by the cyclops and given to him for safe-keeping, but he knew it'd come in handy soon.

He could hear his two recruits whispering behind him, doubting that he was heading them in the correct direction. But he knew, he had to know.
Though his readings for the Queen were fabricated, Inferno could just tell when more Maximal intruders were about.

We cannot let our guard down, not for a second.

The gun was suddenly heaved forward and half-thrown on debris as Inferno saw a potential target.
Black, White, and not unlike their newest companion. THIS had to be the Maximal he was expecting.

"Where are you keeping the Royalty, traitorous scrap!"

((for the record, in case this prowl-mun is completely lost and wants ooc knowledge, you may want to refer to here and then here

Also, Shockwave and Red Alert (in cuffs) are currently present alongside Inferno here, just without time to react yet))

Shockwave was quite surprised when not long after finding Red Alert, the now-group came upon another Autobot. This one proved familiar to Shockwave in both appearance and function. Prowl, the Autobot Tactician and Second in Command. He would not be as easily subdued as the twitchy agent in his grasp. Shockwave powered up his canon, with a readied aim focused on Red Alert's spark chamber in a silent threat towards Prowl.

((Links much appreciated, navigating livejournal is painful on dial up, fff. Also, part of this comment refers to the comm signal sent out by G1 Optimus here))

At the sound of an unfamiliar voice, Prowl spun in the direction of the sound, pulling his blaster from subspace with the motion. The motion was perhaps more paranoid than he might have normally reacted, but given the circumstances, he felt it was acceptable... and when he saw one of the mechs. Shockwave - more importantly, Shockwave aiming his cannon directly at a shackled Red Alert's spark. The smaller... creature (it certainly appeared Cybertronian, at least partially... what in the name of Primus was going on here?) wielded what appeared to be Red Alert's weapon, though the tactician wasn't sure of the immediate threat - the gun seemed awkwardly big for the strangely insect-like being.

Optics gazing steadily from the small being, to Shockwave, and then over to the captive Security Director, Prowl simply frowned, his processors finally playing back what had been shouted at him to begin with. "Royalty? To what are you referring?" he demanded. "And what, precisely," he added, optics narrowing slightly, "are you hoping to accomplish by capturing my comrade?"

Perhaps it was pure luck, but at the same instant, he received an open comm on Autobot frequency from Optimus Prime himself. Prowl could definitely do with that help. Giving no other outward sign, he silently sent a distress signal back.

Red Alert inwardly flinched; he had sensed the second Autobot's presence, tried to lure the others away, but that slagging ant-con just wouldn't listen. But in any case--was this Prowl his Prowl? Perhaps he was merely an illusion, or a doppelgänger. Perhaps this was all just one big trap. Perhaps they really were all dead, and they were seeing ghosts.

In any case, this Prowl seemed legitimately like his own. They had the same energy signature--but Decepticons might have been able to find a way to duplicate such energy signals. If they could create tiny half-organic Decepticons like Inferno, it seemed anything was possible. This could just be a trap to get him to talk...

Still, something had to be done.

"Prowl--or whomever you may be--these Decepticons believe we may have the answers as to why we've been suddenly marooned on this... planet," Red Alert said, optics switching between the Tactician and gun aimed at his chassis. "I've told them we don't know." At least he didn't--maybe Prowl did... But if he did, then wouldn't that put him under the spotlight? Was he trapping his comrade? Was this even his comrade?

Red Alert's sirens glitched into flickers of blue. "This is all complete madness!" he shouted, finally fed up. "You can shoot me if you like, I'm not afraid to die AGAIN!" If this Prowl was his Prowl, hopefully he wouldn't fall into the trap, and escape quickly.

Inferno narrowed his optics as he attempted to use the sight on the rifle to better his shot. This blasted gun was too big for him to use, but if he could hang on to it long enough for the Royalty... He placed one hand on the back of the hand grip, another stretched just far enough to reach the trigger.

"The Queen, Maximal!" He shifted his slipping grip on the weapon. "Do not pretend as if you do not know where your comrades have taken the royalty!"
A flash of blue caught Inferno's optics as their captive started yelling. The Maximal was losing his mind, and the Queen had always said they were sympathetic towards their damaged comrades. Useless. Those wounded soldiers who were unable to serve the royalty were just as useless as the traitorous ones. Clearly, he had to join in the threatening.
Inferno's hand shot back, grasping his flamegun and pointing it up towards Red Alert. His stolen weapon tilted slightly, weighing against his body.

Claws still on the trigger of the confiscated rifle, and right hand holding his own, he pointed at two different targets

and laughed.

"You heard your comrade, Maximal! Give us the location of the Queen Megatron or you will burn"

Shockwave's hostage began to glitch uncontrollably at the stressful situation. The guardian was unfazed, however, and simply tightened his grip and realigned his aim.

His concern was focused instead upon his companion, who was becoming ever more maniacal as time went on. Shockwave was eager to find his leader, yes, but the frantic demeanor of Inferno was slightly off-putting to one as methodological as himself. Screaming might have been an effective interrogation method for the nervous Autobot in his grasp, but Prowl was an entirely different matter.

Well, this had been quite the swift descent into madness. Taking in stride Red Alert's glitching and the manic screeching of the smaller being, Prowl rapidly assimilated all this information, grip resettling on his blaster. "I certainly have no idea why we are here, if we are indeed upon Cybertron," he replied blandly. "I was on a shuttle to Autobot City. And I still know nothing of any royalty," he added, cool gaze slipping back to the rather frenetic mech.

Though the seemingly partially-organic 'bot was still struggling with the stolen gun - and then twice as much at attempting to aim at both Prowl and Red Alert - the tactician was much more concerned with the firm grip (and aim) that Shockwave had on the panicking mech. At the present moment, it seemed as though he could cause the most damage.

Queen Megatron? he wondered; it was the presence of this strange mech, and his use of such a ludicrous term, that slid Prowl's convictions back on the side of all of this being some very strange fabrication by the Decepticons or some unknown entity, or perhaps a very odd, very vivid dream... The tactician could only silently hope that Optimus - or any Autobot - had received his distress signal; he couldn't devise many ways to rescue his comrade without unsustainable damage coming upon one or both of them. That was a risk he was unsure he wanted to take without knowledge of any active medical facilities anywhere in this fabrication of their home.

Optimus pushed himself to accelerate as far as his alt-mode could go, frantically thinking as he did. They were not on Earth, but on a planet that for all they knew could simply be creating illusions off of their most treasured memories. He wasn't leading his men, but a Mirage that looked like the one he knew and yet wasn't him.
He wasn't even sure of what menace exactly they were facing, or what state they'd find Prowl in, but those were all variables he'd probably deal with when actually facing them.

Despite the odd circumstances, this was to be affronted like a regular Autobot operation, without hesitating out of fear of the unknown. And if the increasing amount of energy signatures in range was anything to go by, this might just turn out to be a rescue mission.

Sure enough, as soon as he could identify them - some of them - he knew there wasn't a klik to waste and he'd better immediately engage the enemy, while Mirage remained unseen. He couldn't expect Prowl to stall for more than a breem, not when faced with the threat that was Shockwave. Sending a quick alert to the spy to do as instructed, he rushed in. Hopefully Mirage could handle the surprise element, even better if Sideswipe managed to reach them in time.

"Stop right there, Decepticon scum," he boomed, still speeding up as the small group of mechs came in range of his optical and audial sensors - he shifted from alt mode to bipedal mode without stopping his dash, whipping out the ion blaster at the same time and skidding to a halt a few meters away from the group, at Prowl's right and directly across from Shockwave and his hostage.

"Unhand the prisoner and stand back, Shockwave!"

As discussed, Mirage found a turn-off just before they came into view of their enemies, and he sped down another route, leaving Optimus Prime to take the direct path.

Prowl... Was this going to be another incident like Optimus had been? Would they look similar, but not really know each other? Maybe this Prowl had green optics, or a black chevron, or something equally odd. Maybe he wouldn't know either of them.

The roar of his engine was muffled by modified dampeners created just for him. After all, a spy couldn't be heard coming miles away. He rounded another corned cautiously and came into view of the enemy.

Shockwave. And was that Red Alert in his grasp?

Thanks to the distraction Optimus was offering, Mirage had time to scout out a good, high vantage point from which to take aim and attack or provide cover fire if necessary. Finding a second story balcony in easy reach, he flipped up acrobatically into it, unclipping his rifle from its holsters along his back and bringing it about to the front. There was a slight lip to the balcony that gave him cover as he crouched, resting his gun on the edge and lining up the shot in his scope.

Optimus may have seen him maneuver into position, but with attention on Optimus and Prowl, none of the enemies- wait, there was another smaller one down there, had he seen? Hopefully not. The spy was unsure what the small... creature was capable of, and so decided to treat it as thought it were one of Soundwave's cassetticons: small, powerful, and full of surprises. And it had a gun that was obviously too big for it.

His sight was set on the back of Shockwave's head initially, but Mirage thought better of this and changed instead to aim for the joint of his elbow of the arm holding his weapon. He could disarm him fairly accurately without endangering Red Alert too badly. But first, let their leader take charge...

This was all getting rather out of hand. Someone who appeared to be Optimus Prime, though probably nothing more than some sort of frantic delusion, had joined the squabble. This would normally elicit joy and a sense of hope from Red Alert, but he didn't trust a single one of these mechs, Decepticon or Autobot or mutant organic thing.

No, no one here could be trusted.

That was what it boiled down to, and this situation was piling onto his stress. This was enough.

Red Alert grit his denta, and with a small jump in his spark, thrust both bound fists under Shockwave's head, bashing it back. The giant mech scrambled backwards clumsily, dropping his aim and allowing Red Alert to move free. The Autobot thrust his hands upon Inferno's head, using it to break his cuffs; it successfully knocked the tiny thing unconscious, and Red Alert grabbed his gun.

Quickly, he plucked Inferno's small gun; the thing was ridiculously small, but any weapon he could find was necessary. Red Alert turned a gun each on Prime and Prowl.

"Now," he snapped, "your real designations?"

And they were going to answer, if Shockwave hadn't tightened his grip on him. Red Alert's optics flickered back to full awareness. He repressed a terrible groan.

Dammit, why did it have to be a fantasy?
