He’d left with his brother promising to be back. And she’d trusted that he would be. After all, he’d had an interview on Monday. But while he was gone something terrible had happened. Something had shown up at their home. Some man. She hadn’t exactly seen him… All she knew is what came afterwards. The excruciating pain in her stomach as it was sliced as open… being pinned to the ceiling… and when she had heard Sam’s voice she hadn’t been able to call out.
