So the CTA has finally caught on or stupidly stumbled upon my *magic* CTA card. The card that always came up reading Error: Code 38. The card that has let me ride the L for free for the last 8 months or so. this saddenns me. I'm not a cheap bastard and can afford my buck 75 for an L ride, but it was all an ideal, about beating the system...ESPECIALLY in times where due to their massive incompitance ,over the last 10-20 years, our services may be cut and our cost of riding may (and already has) go up. I'm not an overtly politically bastard. I have my views. But the corruption and scandal after scandal that are dominating our newspaper headlines and littering our news broadcasts in this city are at the least disheartening and at a proper level infuriating and sickening. All in all, I will have to say this point blank and remind you all, this city is and has been run by democrats. I'm not championing a Republican cause or saying *HA, SEE, it's THEM!* I'm just trying to make a note of the fact that politics is fucked on both sides of the fence. This is a city that CONTINUES to put up chain link fences around the underpasses of bridges to keep the homeless from having a place to stay at night YET offers very few and effective alternatives. Where's the liberal love in that? This is a city that had to retro fit GARBAGE trucks with snow plows because we are woefully short on proper vehicles for clearing snow...come on now, we KNOW we get snow in Chicago, happens every year...how could we be short on plows?
Reguardless...I do love this city. Never leaving it. Nope. Not gonna happen.
So apparently the band IS going to crawl out of its hibernation. I need it. I have to disagree with Dave that the band ALWAYS sucked. We had our moments. And that show we pulled off at Phyliss' is really a testament to our band and to the character of the people in it. The events leading up to it were in all seriousness, enough to disable any sort of organizational togetherness in any walk of life. We had a few good thing about a few of the songs and truth be told the thing that held us back is that we were stuck rehashing and replaying songs we had written years and years ago.
We lost the fun.
