Looking for a job
So, I'm looking for a temporary part time job. I applied at Target and Walgreens (the latter only because they are opening a shop 10 mins walk from my house). Today I got an application for Roots, the local natural foods store. Jessica texted the owner and told him I was coming so I've got a bit of an advantage there although he's not actually doing the hiring.
I had a think about where around here I would most like to work and it's by far the yarn shop (although Roots would be cool too. 20% discount!). I figured they probably don't employ many people and they probably hire their friends and family so not much of a chance. I also figured if they WERE hiring they probably wouldn't advertise so I emailed them on the the very slim chance they just might be looking for someone. They are! They asked for my knitting experience and availability. Do you know how much I would LOVE to work in a yarn shop? A fucking LOT. That's how much. Would love, love, love it. I mean, I don't really wanna work, but if I have to, man. That's gonna be my first choice.
Jess and I are going to speak at the WIC peer counselor meeting tomorrow. Gonna talk about doulas and how awesome they are. And on the 13th of May I'm going to the Blackhawk Breastfeeding Coalition monthly meeting. Awesome.
