We're taking care of the hröa in Lorien. She's tended all the time, she's never alone. You can see her if you want. The garden she's resting in is very peaceful.

So is it a definite thing, that when she's rehoused, bam! she goes right back in there? Gah, the whole thing sounds pretty zombie-ish to me.

She'll be re-embodied, slightly different thing. Rehousing is when they get a new body, a new "house." She'll just go back into the same one. Well it worked for Míriel, when she was re-embodied she didn't crave brain-meat as far as I'm aware.
