The slow route to fandom will lead me to insanity

The Spanner in the Wheels: I just did my sums and realised that even if I do starve myself, I cannot afford a new computer, a new server and that Adobe Suite I am eyeing - at least not while the bills feature. Ah well, at least I’ll look forward to a new room in a couple of months. Money has become a key compass in my life it seems, what with my folks switching their mortgage payments and with my brother’s medical bills. But hey, I did promise: no more whingeing on this LJ.

2. FANDOM!!

I have just joined this new land-competition, themiddleearth , to kick start this return to virtual reality. It looks like fun, rather like that Hogwarts version I was in a couple of years ago. Folks in different teams taking part in a wide variety of challenges to score points = simple and social enough, grin. Join it folks!

Hunting around LOTR fandom now I realise what I most want to do for my experimental website. I want a glimpse back into pre-movie fandom. My picture of Middle-earth has become more muddled by PJ’s vision every year since 2001 and will likely worsen if Hobbit ever comes out.

Adobe be damned - I’ll script!(she says now)

tolkien, rl-fail, themiddleearth
