I want your psycho, your vertical stick...

I'm obsessed with the new Lady Gaga music video. It's so fucked up. Also I want to learn the dance. It doesn't look too hard. This is important why? Because I'm sitting in bed, watching it for the Nth time instead of getting ready for work. And I do not want to leave.

It makes me think my body is still not over the plague it fought. I've just been sleeping a lot lately and having trouble re-starting my body. But, I think I'm finally well enough to go back to the gym, so I'm going to do that today during my break. Hopefully it will help purge whatever remnants of illness I still have.

I still have a while before I absolutely must get up. So I'm re-reading The Shannara Series right now starting with the first book, The Sword of Shannara. I had prepared myself for the plot because I had remembered that it was heavily inspired by Lord of the Rings (to the point of being a rip off); however, I also found Brooks' writing to be...average. Ah, that kills me, when you go back and read an author that once inspired you only to find you may have outgrown them as a reader. He had repetitive sentence structure, awkward diction and kept restating things the reader had read not too long ago (like giving characters moments of reflection on crap they already reflected on two chapters ago).

Eh, I'm going to read it all anyway. The second and third books have amazing stories. And then there's a book in quadrilogy that's good as well as a couple in the two trilogies that follow. I'm OCD about reading a book series in order though. Onward!

I'm also reading Jane Austen. I read Emma, then Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (hilarious by the way) a month or so ago. Then I took a break and read LotR, when it was just supposed to be Fellowship, but I couldn't resist the other two. Now I'm on Persuasion, whenever I tire of Shannara stuff. My original goal was to read all of Austen by Christmas, but it made more economic sense to ask for them as presents. Also I realize that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is not Austen-Austen, but since I know the P&P story back to front, I decided on a substitute. Also I don't have my copy here.

Well my alarm just went off to remind me that I should do things.
