Ok, I don't like to rant but I find myself more and more pissed off lately.
Baby Seats Reacalled After 28 Head Injury Reports

That is a story that is on CNN. The seat they are talking about is a Bumbo seat(see pic below). It's a semi rigid foam baby seat. It assists your child in keeping a seated position before they are old enough to sit by themselves. This is an alternative to the bouncy seats where the kid lays down all the time. Also, it helps to entertain them, they're not used to sitting up.
I had one of these for my youngest. I ordered it off of the net before they were widely available in retail locations in the US. When I received it, my husband and I had great fun laughing at all the warning labels on the thing. There were inserts, it was printed on the box all over and there was a warning label on the bottom of the seat.
I don't know why it amazes me that despite the totally insane amount of warnings on this thing (in all different langauges since they're widely distributed) there are still injuries. Ok it doesn't amaze me that there are injuries I understand things happen. What amazes me is that Our Federal Government sees fit to spend time, money and other resources on issuing a recall on over 1 million of these... because of 28 accidents and/or dumbass parents etc.
What the hell is the world coming to?
Then again they have to label coffee hot for adults too. I'm waiting for the newest multi billion dollar " rain is wet " warning system to be installed ...
