Trying to get cats out

Sep 09, 2005 18:01

Im reposting this in hopes that I can find some help.

I have two cats in my house. I have a neighbor who has been looking in on them, and someone was SUPPOSED to transport them to Gonzales today, but they had some difficulty getting the cats in their carriers and so gave up.

I have tried ALL the pet rescue groups and have gotten no where. The word Im receiving is that they're not even BOTHERING with the Riverbend area because they assume its flooded when its not!

If ANYONE has ANY contacts that would be willing to go into my house and get my cats, PLEASE contact me at 504-931-9118. As I said, I have contacted ALL the pet rescue groups.

In addition I have friends and neighbors working on this from various parts of the country. I have pretty much been informed that if I want to get them out, then Im going to have to do it myself or find someone to do it. Im frantic and desperate.

Im in Chicago so I cannot personally get in to get them or I would.

Im trying to find ANYONE who has contact with someone still in the area to see if they would be willing to go in.

ETA: I keep getting emails telling me to contact pet rescue groups. I HAVE!!!!!

groups contacted:

Noah's Wish
HSUS
PETA
PetFinder
LA SPCA

I KNOW that they are in my house - so telling me to contact the shelters does no good - they're NOT there.
