Thanks notyourmama2, don't mind if I do.

What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
At 45, I got married for the first time, twice, both legally, or as legally as two gals could in the state of Louisiana, and, spiritually, surrounded by family and friends.

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes, and probably not. Last year my resolutions had to do with saving for and then planning a HUGE party, plus, getting into better shape so that the party pictures would make me happy. Check and check.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
A gal that MA works with had a precious baby girl named Winter. In California, MA's step-bro had a baby boy named Callan.

Did anyone close to you die?
Rex, the best cat I have ever had, got cancer and was put out of his misery on December 18th.

What countries did you visit?
NO travel at all, saving for the BIG party. I did spent my birthday in Biloxi, Mississippi, which is practically another country, but only an hour away.

What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A vacation involving a beach and tropical beverages.

What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Planned and executed a spectacular event which I thought I many never have the pleasure of enjoying.

What was your biggest failure?
Keeping up with my online projects, both flickr AND LJ...I hope to do better this year...wait, was that a resolution??

Heart-break at losing my favorite furry baby.

What was the best thing you bought?
The rings that my wife and I put on each other's hands on 10.11.12.

Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My family, both of biology and of choice, who joined us in sweet celebration and support.

Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The handful of people who RSVPed 'yes' and then didn't show up, or, even communicate why. WTF?

Where did most of your money go?
That fabulous party.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Same thing. (are you feeling the pattern here?)

Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Happier
ii. thinner or fatter?
Thinner
iii. richer or poorer?
Poorer in dollars, but richer in spirit.

What do you wish you'd done more of?
Walking, Stretching, Exercising, Live Journaling.

Over-eating and over-drinking and over-thinking.

Nine Lives by Dan Baum.

A vacation on a beach.

The brother-in-law's new lady friend. We like her a lot.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
