What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
At 45, I got married for the first time, twice, both legally, or as legally as two gals could in the state of Louisiana, and, spiritually, surrounded by family and friends.
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes, and probably not. Last year my resolutions had to do with saving for and then planning a HUGE party, plus, getting into better shape so that the party pictures would make me happy. Check and check.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
A gal that MA works with had a precious baby girl named Winter. In California, MA's step-bro had a baby boy named Callan.
Did anyone close to you die?
Rex, the best cat I have ever had, got cancer and was put out of his misery on December 18th.
What countries did you visit?
NO travel at all, saving for the BIG party. I did spent my birthday in Biloxi, Mississippi, which is practically another country, but only an hour away.
What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A vacation involving a beach and tropical beverages.
What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
10.11.12 I spent the day celebrating the best relationship I have ever had, surrounded by most of my most favorite people.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Planned and executed a spectacular event which I thought I many never have the pleasure of enjoying.
What was your biggest failure?
Keeping up with my online projects, both flickr AND LJ...I hope to do better this year...wait, was that a resolution??
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Heart-break at losing my favorite furry baby.
What was the best thing you bought?
The rings that my wife and I put on each other's hands on 10.11.12.
Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My family, both of biology and of choice, who joined us in sweet celebration and support.
Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The handful of people who RSVPed 'yes' and then didn't show up, or, even communicate why. WTF?
Where did most of your money go?
That fabulous party.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Same thing. (are you feeling the pattern here?)

Surrounded by friends, food and games.

I didn't fall into love, but I fell in deeper.

Not so much.

Still love CBS Sunday Morning, but on prime-time, Parenthood.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not HATE, but I am very curious about that handful I mentioned above.

Nine Lives by Dan Baum.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Jack White put out a new album and I really, really like it, but that isn't a surprise.
What did you want and get?
A wife, and an acoustic guitar (different days).
What did you want and not get?
A vacation on a beach.
What was your favourite film this year?
The only movie I went to see in a theater was the Katy Perry movie. And I really liked it!
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A vacation on a beach.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
just me.
What kept you sane?
Not sure I can claim sane.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still in love with Jack White.
What political issue stirred you the most?
I supposed the Presidential election, but luckily I was occupied planning a party most of the year.
Who did you miss?
I still think about a few lost friends constantly.
Who was the best new person you met?
The brother-in-law's new lady friend. We like her a lot.

You can plan and plan and plan, but stuff is gonna happen the way it's gonna happen, and that is just fine.
