Before I forget, I want to tell you what an amazing dinner we had at the Country Club Restaurant on Louisa St in the Bywater, Friday night. I always have a hard time finding this place. I have been there a dozen or so times but always forget the best way to go, so I end up driving around looping the blocks until I get close enough to realize I should have just gone down Chartres instead of St. Claude, but...I digress....
There is a new food venue inside of the
old Country Club, a perfect use for all of those 'meeting rooms' that never had anyone in them. The
menu reads like something off of Top Chef (Lamb Carpaccio or Wild Boar served with Mushroom Risotto) and the ambiance is simply amazing. We had a fairly large party and it seemed like they took a room of 4 small tables and turned it into our own private dining room with one huge table. No one else around. It was really, really nice!! The weather was perfect so the windows were open, fresh air, no mosquitos...exquisite.
We were celebrating the impending homecoming of
orangegrrl_nola and the acceptance to Tulane Grad. School of
notyourmama2, as well as her moving to NOLA. (We had plenty to celebrate!!) The company and the location could not have been nicer. And the food was really good, too!!
