OMG!
I had the BEST NIGHT EVER last night!
A whole crew of us went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was just as amazing as I thought it would be. If Johnny Depp hadn't already been my hero for brilliant character acting, this would have launched him right up there. It's so far removed from the old movie, and utterly fantastic!
Me and gods_lil_rocker got to squee over seeing the GoF trailer on the big screen.
Then there was ice cream with everyone piling into the Suburban (I managed to not take out anyone or thing despite that car being the size of four of my Mustangs!) and then went to the midnight release party! We drank butterbeer (grossest stuff ever!), embarrassed sisters, played Emergency Uno, and most importantly got our books!
We then headed to IHOP, where we attempted to read HBP aloud but were thwarted by drunks and hicks and our own giddiness. We got home around two, and me and Sarah stayed up until six eating pizza, drinking cappaccino, and I (slowly) read HBP! Then I got up, and a little while ago finished HBP.
OMG OMG OMG!!!
I can't believe Hagrid still hasn't died! I can believe Dumbledore died, but then again, I can't.
I cannot express the level of squee I reached when the entire second chapter was nothing but Bellatrix, Narcissa and Snape. And Draco! Draco and Moaning Myrtle! Draco crying! Draco not being able to kill Dumbledore! Draco's possible Death Eaterdom! I am so hung up on Draco! Where is he now? What is he doing? Did Snape really betray everyone, or is this more of the tricky double-triple-quadruple agent drama happening? Lucius's imprisonment actually being a good thing for Lucius, as it keeps him out of harm's way!
I'm not even going to go into the Harry/Ginny or the Ron/Hermione, but I am utterly in love with Fleur/Bill! I loved that she said she was pretty enough for them both! I love that they're getting married. And Tonks/Remus is so totally canon! But I loved that Harry immediately was going for Tonks/Sirius.
It was utterly my hero that that danged description was just the Minister of Magic. And the werewolf killer was so great. And the Gaunts! I love that the noble Slytherin blood comes from dirty peasants!
*giggles* And it kind of looks like Zacharias Smith might be a Heir of Hufflepuff. And Snape as a halfblood! And Snape as the Half Blood Prince! And Kreacher and Dobby's fight!
I'm going to stop here. Apparently I need more than half an hour after finishing the book in order to have coherent thoughts... more on this later.
