I am in seventh heaven fic-wise because two days ago, the final part of my Absolute Favorite Fanfic of All Time was posted. Chimera by Kiana Caelum, in the LJS fandom. It is such an amazing fic- I've been following it devotedly since July 2001. Everyone should read it, even if you've never read L.J. Smith's books, because it is so stunningly original barely any knowledge of LJS's works is needed. (Mostly all you need to know is that the Night World is a hidden community of vampires, witches and shapeshifters, and humans are looked down on. There's a soulmate principle that binds people together.) So this is my biggest fic rec of all time- you should read Chimera. It is beautifully written- the descriptions are lyrical, the characters are compelling and interesting, it has humor and drama, romance and hatred. It is intricately plotted, and the ending- the ending made me go "OMG!!" for hours.
