I am pretty excited about Yuletide, you guys. I got my assignment and am already trying to come up with the perfect scenario! And I realized I haven't posted a yuletide letter yet, so here it is, in all its vague glory!
Dear Yuletide writer,
Thank you for picking any of my fandoms! They are a mix of new and old loves, and I will be delighted to read something in any of them.
Mostly, I just want you to write what you would enjoy the most. Hopefully something in the details managed to spark an idea, but don't feel obligated to include anything I mentioned there.
Here's a few things I enjoy: I like reading about character’s pasts just as much as their future, and I’m always a sucker for good character interaction. I’m just as happy with genfic (I love plotty fic, darkfic, character-driven stuff, mindfuckery or humor) as I am with anything romantic (though if you’re more comfortable writing smut or whatnot, have at it. You aren’t likely to shock me, though I would prefer less hardcore kink and more characterization. If any of that’s an issue.) I read it all- slash, het, gen... I like unrequited love just as much as requited. If you want to try something experimental or go out on a crazy limb, by all means, go for it. I love to see writers taking risks, even if they fail at it, just as much as someone being excellent at something safer.
Basically, all this rambling amounts to is that I’ll be happy with pretty much anything in the fandoms I’ve requested. Have fun with it, and I’m sure to enjoy it. Hopefully I’m not too vague, but really, I am that easy to please. I write and read all over the spectrum, so just do what you're best at and go with what inspires you, and I'll be happy to read it!
