Jeez, you guys, where does the time go?
I've had a crazy busy week - family stuff out the wazoo. Christmas was great, except for a few rough spots, but that's probably normal, given what the past few months have been like.
I got awesome gifts, ranging from a 400-page Batman coloring book to a 30gb Zune. I'm pretty sure every single thing I got was amazing. Huge Santa mug! Chocolates! A purple scarf! The Swing Kids soundtrack! Pink fuzzy slippers! I love the randomness of Christmas presents, I really do, and wondering what delightful thought processes lead to someone buying you whatever it is they got you. On some things I asked, and was delighted with the answers. (Me: Why did you give me a clementine? Mom: They were on sale. Me: Why did you get me The Prince of Egypt soundtrack? Sis: Because you hate that movie and think it's scary.) My one regret is that while I receved footless tights, I received no socks. I think it was my first sockless Christmas.
I've also been going to movies like a fiend! I went and saw Sweeney Todd last weekend, and loved it to itty-bitty pieces. Seriously, Johnny Depp. Helena Bonham Carter. Alan Rickman. Musical. Murder. Mayhem. I shouldn't have to prod any of y'all to go. ;) Then this weekend I went and saw Atonement - which was very beautifully shot, but rather dull and anticlimatic, I thought, even though it was the first time I've ever been able to understand why people think Kiera Knightley is beautiful - and Juno, which was hilarious and delightful and had us just smiling and laughing in the car afterwards, because it was a good movie. There's just something about a good movie that can brighten your mood like nothing else.
Also! Yuletide has been awesome this year! Well, I'm assuming. I've only actually had time to read a handful of stories so far, but they've been awesome. I recieved
Wolf's Brother, which is IAN FIC YAY! for Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I heart you, anonymous fic author, because I cannot get enough of Ian.
Well, I hope you all have a very merry New Year! *smooshes you all in hugs*
