Dexter!
So the second season of Dexter started before I got a chance to refresh myself by watching most of my season one dvds. But I'm more than fine with that, because, *squee*, Dexter's back!

OMG. Just...
This is fantastic. I love this show so, so much. I mean, the cool, calm Dexter that the first season spent so much time establishing and building and cracking ever so slightly? Gone. Now the cracks in Dexter's facade are spreading, and watching him become such a mess...
It's so fantastic.
I mean. They found the bodies! Dexter's super sekrit stash of victims is out in the open, and Doakes already suspects him of something, and Rita's suspicions are up, even if she's doing her best to ignore it, and...
And Dexter himself is breaking apart at the seams. I am so into this.
Rita, I think, would have been fine with sitting on the hints of Dexter not being the truly nice guy he fronts as, but with Paul dying? And her feeling responsible? It won't lead anywhere good for the characters, but this already is shaping up to be a damn fine season.
And Deb! Oh, Deb. She is so close to breaking, and the world is not giving her any relief. I did rather love her for breaking that dude's nose in the bar. And her and Rita bonding over past relationship woes was oddly sweet. And she hugged LaGuerta! It's just. perfect.
Dexter's inability to perform - on all fronts - was so... sad for him, because he's falling apart for the first time ever and by the end of the episode he *loved* it. I adored his interaction with the blind voodoo priest, and how he smacked him in the head when the dude started speaking in tongues. I loved how he was counting the hours since he killed his brother, and how that was clearly effecting him more than he was willing to acknowledge. I hate that the ginormous gang killer got away, because that's a loose thread Dexter does not need right now.
It is going to break Deb's heart if she finds out Dexter is also a serial killer.
And as always I loved the flashbacks to wee!Dex.
I cannot wait for the next episode. The season preview looked amazing. *squee*

Also, this weekend I got quite a bit of writing done, so I should have some interesting things to post throughout the week. :D
