Happy birthday to two of the most talented ladies I know: cupid12203, whose art never fails to fill me with awe, and ki_caelum, whose world building talent is unsurpassed!

Wow, they're making Blood and Chocolate into a movie. I just saw a preview. I liked that book way back when, in my teen vampires-and-werewolves phase, but now it's on my 'best not to reread ( Read more... )

Woooo, Atia! She fell down a bit on the job of mom for a bit there, but at least she eventually tried to stop MA... Who is so very, very doomed.

YES! I totally KNEW they weren't dead!

I just adored Atia to no end, even though, yeah, totally underestimating her son and will totally regret that even though without doubt she'll act like she supported him the whole time.

I was yelling at the screen for Marc to take up Octavian's offer. Of course, I was also yelling, "Step away from the Egyptian honey if you know what's good for you!" (I like Marc Antony a lot more than I ought to.)

Huzzah for being sold into slavery!

MA was in trouble from the minute he tried to steal Octavian's money, but as soon as he underestimated both mother (because no way Atia's going to let this business of sparks like fireworks between MA and Cleo go unpunished) and son (who is going to make MA rue the damn day liek whoa.)

A belated thank you! Woe, for I am 23, one of the Mighty Non-Birthdays of the mid-twenties.

I'm psyched about Blood & Chocolate - I shall to haul my better half along to it (alas, I can imagine the conversation already.

Him: "Not another chick flick. What's this one about?"
Me: "Um. It's about werewolves. And sex. And violence."
Him: *man-shaped hole in the door* "Not after the vampire porn!"

And having reread it recently, I can confirm it's still a good book. Annette Curtis Klause can stand the test of time :) (In fact, she's got a new one out. I'll have to add it to my next Amazon order.)

*grins* I hit 23 in May, so I understand its underwhelming-ness.

Oh, wonderful! It's a relief to know Blood & Chocolate is still a good book - I hate when old favorites are terrible. And a new one from her? I'll keep an eye out.

*giggles* Your poor bf, so put-upon. However, it is funny from over here. ;)
