So I've been running almost 3 weeks now. 5 days per week.

I've gained 1lb.

Are you kidding me?

I give up.

I fucking give the fuck up.

it's actually pretty standard to gain weight when you've started a new workout routine. a) you gain muscle and b) you eat more due to exercising more. don't give up! don't run because you want to lose weight, run because it's good for you and makes your heart work better and gets way more oxygen to your brain and muscle and whole body. with a change in mindset, you'll be free to run and enjoy without the stress of weight-loss/gain.

ok - either you need a good poo or you're putting on some muscle - if the exercise is making you feel better then keep it up :)
