Pausing on Sherlock for some 2D fun...

This might be the ending theme that'll get stuck in your head - from Kill Me Baby.

Aquarion EVOL 1-2! Never watched more than one episode of the first series, but maybe I'll stick with this. A girl waits 12,000 years for her tru rabu.

+ Yoko Kanno's fantastical music (for the most part. She's not doing the whole soundtrack.)
+ Pretty eye colors/Good production
+ Humorous robot porn
+ Cast of fan-favorite seiyuu
- Unoriginal story
- Main characters are a tad whiny.

Quick impression ~ A boy, Amata, who has naked floaty powers (when his heart goes doki-doki) goes on date with a pretty girl, Mikono. Both have self-esteem problems. There's also a war going on. Aquaria fight off Abductors. The Abductors abduct...haha. Apparently there's a battle of the sexes within the Aquaria ranks, too; the commander of the male troops, Type-M's vs. the head nun of the female troops, Type-F's. The girls and boys must maintain a barrier of chastity between them...haha, but not for long. Amata tries to protect Mikono from an Abductor attack and awakens Aquarion...Evol; the power of (naked) unions...haha, everyone is astonished. They fight off a particularly insane Abductor (who wants to hook up with Mikono) Unfortunately, the next episode looks dull.

Another 1! Murder mystery?

+ Great spooky atmosphere
+ Good production
- Not much else

Quick impression ~ Is it me or do all of Ali Project's anime theme songs sound alike now? Kyouchi transfers into a public school out in the country from a private school in Tokyo; gotta watch out for those public schools in the middle of nowhere. He meets a student with an eyepatch who is apparently dead. All the other students say mysterious things. There are random screenshots of broken dolls. There's a lot of care put into the production of this show. It's actually well-made. Not sure if it really grabbed me though. My guess is that all the students had some part in Misaki's death.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi 2! a rather quick and sweet resolution to the previous problem with Matoba. There're a couple rather good manga arcs that were recently published. I hope this season gets to them.

Last Exile -Ginyoku no Fam 12! a flashback explaining what happened to the previous Augusta. Mostly fluffy until the end. It would have been a decent episode, but the production was sloppy; the action was supposed to be serious, but because of the crappy animation, was funny.

aquarion evol, natsume yuujinchou, another, last exile
