Today we said a sorrowful farewell to our tuxedo kitty, Stash, - short for Pistachio. She was just shy of 17 years old, far longer than anyone expected her to live; Stash had a spinal condition which was expected to worsen steadily but instead stablized for many years. Stash showed the first signs of distress on Wednesday, and by the time we got her into the vet she was panting. Tests showed cancer in her lung and intestines, and it was clear that her time had come. She'll be sorely missed, both by us and little brother Joe. Goodbye lil girl.
