Yes, believe it or not, it’s been ten years since the this meme was inflicted upon us all. While it existed prior to February 15, 2001, 10 years ago today was when it was translated into a flash video and began spiraling out of control (

Wikipedia agree that the animation grew in popularity late February of 2001, and actually drew attention of Wired Magazine and USA Today soon after.
I remember a particular stunt pulled by students at a university I attended where they used Styrofoam cups and spelled out “All Your Base Are Belong To Us” in the chain link fence of a skywalk that connected two halves of the university over a busy road. Sadly the message lasted only about a day.
It wasn’t my first meme but it is definitely one of my favorites.
