So what you just saw was the trailer to an upcoming anime by Gainax. I had to go web searching to find out what I had just subjected my brain to and found this source.
Basically the anime is titled Panty & Stocking with garterbelt and it stars a teen-celebrity-like blond-haired girl named Panty and a black-haired Goth Loli girl named Stocking. The two are angels sent from the heavens to battle the "Ghosts" on Earth. And they have a black guy named garterbelt. Also it looks like their respective underwear turns into guns or weapons or something.
The assistant director Masahiko Otsuka most famously (to me) known for FLCL and Pom Poko, two of the most unique animated stories I've seen in awhile. The rest of the production cast seem to be vetrans of an anime I don't know called Gurren Lagann.
I'm getting a very Invader Zim/Powerpuff Girls/Ami & Yuki vibe from this. I kinda wana see it. Thoughts?
