So when we
last left our adventurers, they had just been tasked with finding the kobold army and killing their leader.
The party had also gained another member at this time. A strange insect creature who apparently traveled with the catrographer who decided instead to travel with the party in order to map out the swamp area. The summoner took a liking to the creature, although Derevok revealed a fear of bugs, making the four armed mantis humanoid creature somewhat unwelcome.
The swamp proved far more difficult than the party originally expected. Not that anyone in the party had ever been into a swamp before. The horses and cart had to be abandoned about half way through, much to the Summoner's sadness. It also turned out that the swamp was highly trapped, which the screeching dwarven monk found out for the party on one occasion as he got himself caught upside down in a large metal clamp. The party's solution to attack a troop of kobolds and take one hostage. They then forced the kobold to take them where they wanted to go.
This is where some confusion lay. The Mantis Creature had a magical map that somewhat showed the layout of the swamp. It indicated that there were two largish structures. One was probably a temple, the other a large camp. The party decided to head towards the camp. All of this took several days, during which the party had to keep the little goblin cleric from killing the kobold in its sleep.
This is how the party found the kobold army. And how the rain of buffalo was invented.
