Doctor Who

Wow.

I really didn't think that I'd be this sad over a stupid tv show. Well, except for when they ended Gilmore girls. David Tennant has announced that he will no longer be the doctor. :( Which means that I will probably no longer be watching Dr. Who. It's not his exit really that inspired this. The direction the show has been going has really not captivated me the way the first season did. There was too many storylines that tried to be too big. I would love for there to be something contained like Blink from the third season and school reunion from the second, those were wonderful episodes that didn't try to be bigger than the show. They completely failed to write a descent storyline for the finale of this season, it was horrible and cliched and I couldn't be happier that it was over. I LOVED Turn Left, but the ending tried to cram to much into itself. David leaving is really the last straw.

On the upside,he will now be able to do conventions and perhaps one in the states. maybe. :( And they may be bringing Hamlet to broadway, which is so much more plausible (if not as enjoyable) than traveling to Stratford upon Avon. (Which I will do some day!!!)

In other TV news, AMC has decided that because Matthew Weiner is asking for too much money for his salary, and control over the advertising for Mad Men, they are going to replace him. To which I say, "Are you people insane!?". Mad Men is one of the greatest shows on television today, if they replace the creator with someone else that will completely defeat the purpose of having Mad Men on AMC in the first place. It is a CREATIVE juggernaut, not a ratings or popular one. If Matthew Weiner is asking for too much money, then they have a duty to find a way to reason with him, not to run off at the first sign of trouble. That is only going to make him not want to come back.

Jeez.

In completely unrelated news, I am thinking of changing my major to Graphic Design. I'm supremely nervous about this decision, and it may be a bad one, but I'm going to try and see what happens. Hopefully I'll have something to show for it come spring.
