Tuesday nights out
I am torn! Woe is me! As has already been stated, we had dinner last night at the Meat and Wine Co Melbourne. The steak was on par with what I expected (Although I did learn that the mushroom sauce is better than the BBQ relish) so I'm not going to go into yet another dribbling fan-boy description of it. The big disapointment however was that they messed up my partners meal, lamb shanks rather than lamb cutlets! The waiter fully apologised when he bought out the meal and did offer to have the cutlets made however we were on a fairly tight schedule and couldn't wait this long.
I REALLY hate to sound whingy because I'm happy to admit that I worship this restaurant as much as the next guy, but I wasn't impressed with the lamb shanks. If you'd been hanging out for lamb cutlets, these shanks simply wouldn't have satisfied. At least an offer to provide the meal at a reduced rate or complementory would have been nice.
Anyway, enough of that rant. The second half of the evening was spent at a lecture by Cory Doctorow which was fantastic! Saw a few familiar faces from LUV there too. Whilst I didn't agree with 100% of the things he said (Probably about 92%) it was a fantastic talk to goto from both an entertainment and educational standpoint.
