That's what our lives are like I cannot help thinking.
I know it is a bit of a cliche to complain about the average-ness of a 9-to-5 life.
But I'll do it anyway.
I don't dislike it because it is 'average'.
I realise now that I dislike it because it is imposed on us.
Our 'choices' are fake choices. Without substance.
They're there as pretense.
'This is my choice, dammit' we kid ourselves.
On occasion
someone will break that mould and I feel somewhat relieved.
And then I feel depressed with my weakness.
It's damn difficult to change oneself.
