Your Name: Phae
Your Age: 21
Character: Fuyumine Magato
Series: DOGS: Bullets & Carnage
Timeline: Chapter 39
HISTORY:Okay. Backstory? How the hell should we know? Really. Hell, at least it's indicated in one way or another that Magato was the victim of some family mass murder - the only one lucky enough to survive and get picked up by some inward-heroic mysterious fucker. Hey, it’s just like one of those good Samarian stories. The kid gets rescued, and is taken under some guy’s wing. Sounds good, right?
Yeah right. Let’s toss that bullshit down.
So, you have this father figure, tall as hell, well-built, etc etc. and you have this little brat by the name of Magato. It was probably instantaneous, the way he loathed Fuyumine, though who knows why. But like all rebellious teenagers, Magato would hang out until late, skip his homework. But that does not nullify the fact that Magato knows Fuyumine rather well.
But you know when one day you see something, and you desperately want it. You want it so badly you can just stare at it everyday in all it’s glory? Say hello to Naoto, "Lets be friends." And that was when an unhealthy obsession with the small girl began.
He watched her constantly, her growing up with a murderous intent that was clearing eating its way inside out. And it was admirable, really. So much that one day Magato let his curiosity and hunger take hold and took her from behind, slicing down her shirt and exposing her chest, all the while murmuring filth about how adorable she was. And too bad for him, because the next moment, as he was about to continue this act of violation, the hilt of a sword pressed against his back, threatening to dislodge something. And he couldn’t have that could he? So he turned to Fuyumine, smile leering with careless words tossed out as he made his way out, but not before hearing a comment about how he had been neglecting his own swordsmanship.
Oh yeah well he proved him! Because one day when Naoto came back from her work, there was her father figure -- Magato’s mentor -- slouching against a wall with blood pooling around him; leg and arm missing and Magato sitting with a low laugh as words of provocation leave his mouth. And would one believe that Naoto would allow this? To allow the man she had wanted to kill to be slaughtered so easily by someone else? Of course not, not even after Magato offered an alliance between them for god-knows-what-reason.
Too bad that in the end she basically sliced through his ribs.
Much to Naoto's dismay, it was Magato who told Naoto about the holder of the other sword with a soft voice, it could have been affectionate really, how he was willingly throwing information of how Fuyumine wasn’t the one that killed her parents, and that that there is another down below. All this, shortly before leaving Naoto to herself.
Now, you may assume for Magato to be dead, yeah? Walking off like some retarded dog and goes to die alone, yeah - no. Not at all actually, because when we press fast forward for a bit (yeah a bit like 30 damn chapters) we see Magato alive and healthy, on his knees with the barrel of guns to his head murmuring his own justification of killing so-and-so many people because of one stupid fucking dog that reminded him of Naoto. Thing is, the people who he eventually dismembers are his clients, and thus we find out that Magato has developed the lifestyle of a rouge swordsman, a good-for-nothing thuggish assassin.
But even so, we see him with Richter Berthein, a self proclaimed enemy of Badou. And they do seem to be on good terms, good terms meaning that they won’t rip out one another’s throats. (Of course unless one of them is stupid enough to try it.)
Though that is better than some little bitch by the name of Mimi who is a private investigator with a bad habit of putting her nose into shit that doesn’t belong to her. Because all the while investigating Magato, (and calling him big bro?) she is sooner or later found by a very dangerous and violent on-the-brink-of-painting-the-walls-with-your-brains Magato who threatens to kill her, and half-way there before the police arrive, forcing him to run off like a little girl all the while tossing a wave and saying, “Say hello to Naoto for me."
PERSONALITY:Magato is one that could be known as a walking complexity - now, it is completely obvious that he is rather aggressive and crude in his life work: killing anyone that stands in his way, or anyone that he deems complete trash. No empathy, no sympathy and just letting his blade cut through them, it doesn’t matter if they are targets or clients -- not even if they are children or animals. Because Magato is a man that is fueled by desire, and that desire is sick and twisted, and it has a name of Naoto.
One could say that everything that Magato does is because of Naoto. But really, it is known that Magato does actually care about Naoto very much; and whenever she is mentioned or thought of, he is rather ecstatic.
You see, revenge is dirty and gritty, a parasitic lifestyle that grew in Naoto with her need and desire to kill Fuyumine. Now, Magato, he was the one that killed Fuyumine, and perhaps that was to save her from doing it herself and have her dwell in a certain type of uselessness as she completed her objective.
And really, it is all one big clusterfuck with Magato; it is rather noticeable with his demeanor that Magato is indeed a psychopath. He kills with no regret (regret being a wavering subject in Magato’s life considering that he does wish that he could somehow change his present) no mercy and also takes a sort of enjoyment with doing so. Along with being a walking complexity, he also seems to be a walking contradiction as though he is indecisive of what he true motives, and where his loyalty lies.
But now.
Now, who really gives a shit? He’s got the skills to do whatever the hell he wants (-- While feeling the pricks of nostalgia of his past in his brain) but he fights for nothing, nothing but survival maybe, nothing but to see the last remaining of his family, maybe, just maybe. Or maybe Magato is one that purely lives to see the excitement of chaos and to let his hands be stained of blood. Fuck, probably just for shits and giggles really.
And for an assassin, Magato could be described as being rather…fruity. Not in the dainty way but the way he holds himself so cut-clean, as though every single slash he performs on a victim is nothing but a piece of art that is added to a masterpiece.
But there is one thing; you really don’t want to get in his face, because he will peel yours off without hesitation, because it isn’t just arrogance, it’s because why not. Maybe because you provoked him, or maybe because it is just fun and he needs to get his kicks from somewhere.
It’s hard to pinpoint what made the screws loose in his head (yeah we gotta thank the disjointed canon for that -- yeah) but whatever it was, he's accepted it, pure and simple. Maybe because of the arrogance and confidence or just because he isn’t one to angst and brood about his shitty past, or maybe because unlike Naoto he had a choice, but he knows that he can’t turn time back now that he is completely ruined, so why not just go forward and leave some bodies behind as well?
ABILITIES:Being one that was a surrogate son of one of the most (possibly) professional military generals, Magato has gained the ability to be more than proficient with a blade. He is insanely quick with his own movements and can easily take out several thugs with nothing but a quick flicker of an equipped hand that can leave others at a significant disadvantage -- and even more with carved skulls and quick perfect dismemberment.
Of course he can handle other weapons rather easily, but the touch of a blade kind of runs in the family. Surely he outside training that did not consist of his true mentor’s had served for his own techniques that were (no doubt) completely brutal, nothing polished and the like, but downright cruel and sadistic and maybe he is more than capable to win a few fist fights - but with his lanky well-toned frame, it seems as though he was made more for speed than just brute force.
WHAT ARE THEY BRINGING TO NUADORIA?:The clothes on his back and a combat knife.
