as the cat purrs

(little x-post from facebook:)Nicole Bunge has decided her new catch-phrase is "THAT'S IT! YOU'RE GOING IN MY NOVEL!" (this may or may not include remarks about it being a horror novel, where you die painfully. Or... other things like 'it's star wars & you marry a drunk wookie!')

I accomplished a whole lot of nothing today. Except reading fan fic tonight.
Almost done with "The Straw Men." For a suspense novel (first in a trilogy) it is good. I really like the writer's style. Keep wanting to underline meaningless passages. But, is not my book.

I should be sleeping. If only because the guys who are replacing the windows are coming at 9am. I do not have to be up, and they are not doing my bedroom windows, but it will be LOUD. I know this. I've known this for days.
I'm still sleeping during the day. *sigh*

Hopefully I'll get approval tomorrow on the revised estimate so they can start work on my car. Though I like driving my mom's car. It is small. Saturn Ion. I LIKE that car. It is not the big green monster.

Every time I read fan fiction I think "wow, I'm good at this writing thing, I can do this, so many people suck" and then I look at the "Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level" on my writing... and it's 3rd grade. *sigh* (even my journal writing has slipped to 6th grade.) Ah well.

At least I hit 50,000 words. In roughly 45 days. Still not done, but getting there. Still pleased at how well my meta-fiction snark was received. I may have to do "Afternoon Tea with Death" as my nanowrimo this year. If only because it is an idea with no plot.

Tomorrow morning I will probably get up, chug red bull and go to the library to look for a job and write.
Or... get donuts and go to a cafe and look for a job and write.

Purr-butt has put his paws on the keyboard. I guess that's my signal to sign off for the night.

fiction, fanfic
