(stolen from Moira, this was very challenging because my memory never goes back much further than a few weeks.)
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Edited a film on final-cut, Learned AfterEffects, Edited sound in Protools... found out it was all ridiculously easy and that doing a year long TAFE course in them was really not necessary (a week long course would have been better).
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make any, probably won't make any again.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Uhhhhh... Not really. Some of the mallrats spawned.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
This doesn't really count since we weren't close but my grandfather died. I know we maybe should have been close but by the time I was old enough to remember him he was too old to remember anything from his life. When I heard about his life at his eulogy though I'd wished I met him when he was more in his prime.
5. What countries did you visit?
The farthest afield that I went was to Nairne... and I went there twice, both times for work.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
I want to get some of my comics that I have planned drawn, I would like to write a bit more... yep, artistic achievement all the way.
"Betsy the Wonder Cow", "Black and White", "Afterwars" and "Divine?" are all mostly written in my head but I haven't drawn a single panel of any of these comics yet. (lol, now that I look at the list 3/4 of them are about religion).
7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Clearly not my birthday, I can't remember it. Enchanted 2004. That's pretty much it.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Don't know that I really achieved anything this year.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not achieving anything.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I faked it a lot to get out of TAFE, does that count?
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My mobile phone.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
*shrug* no one in particular, my friends were all good but then that's why they're my friends.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled?
My own at times. The bitch who lives at 15 sargent st Beaumont heights.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Food, tobacco, illicit substances.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Enchanted 2004.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2004?
Zeromancer... Yes I know ZZYXX was made in 2003 (or something like that) but I only found out about them this year.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
- i. happier or sadder? healthier, wealthier, more 'with it', same level romantically and yes... happier.
- ii. thinner or fatter? Probably about the same, maybe a little thinner. It went up this year, but went down again.
- iii. richer or poorer? Actually about the same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Art.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting my time with a lot of TAFE bullshit.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Just a guess mind you, but with family friends I don't particularly like ;)
21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
WINSTON!
21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Very recently, yes. Otherwise I was already in love with Michael at the start of 2004 until our breakup in February, Adrian and I avoided falling in love because we knew he'd go back to Italy and things with Shannon were just fun between friends, not love.
23. How many one-night stands?
Zero. Though things with Shannon were a bit one-night standy...
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Stargate, John Safran vs God, Invader Zim.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
The beggar guy who threatens people has become even more aggressive and in your face. Bit-bi sam's girlfriend Carol I didn't know last year. Finally, and most definately, the bitch who lives at 15 Sargent Street, Beaumont Heights.
26. What was the best book you read?
American Gods, Neil Gaiman.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Zeromancer, Nightwish.
28. What did you want and get?
....Nothing, (sob).
29. What did you want and not get?
A hernia.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
The ones I made :D, Actually no, they all pretty much sucked.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I...Don't...Remember :| NEITHER DOES MY MOTHER!? (For the record she (normally) has a photographic memory).
32. What would have made your year more satisfying?
Not wasting my time with TAFE
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Though I would have sorely liked new clothes, the fact that I just had my old clothes from last year somewhat prevented my fashion from evolving.
34. What kept you sane?
The voices in my head, Winston.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Let me just check the nude photo directory on my hard drive... Wow, apparently Justin Timberlake. That's kind of sad.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Don't get me started on politics... but I suppose the issue most particular to this year is feminism and how much it sucks (don't get me wrong here, the idea of gender equality is great but the way people go about it is almost as bad as the way they go about gay rights).
37. Who did you miss?
Missed Adrian a bit when he went back to Italy... Missed Michael like an internal organ had been sliced out of me. Otherwise I don't really miss people much, that's way too much like living in the past.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Ben and Dyllan.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
"On average, people are rather average."
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"I don't know what's worth fighting for, or why I have to scream. I don't know why I instigate and say what I don't mean. I don't know how I got this way, I know it's not alright."
