First round back at 20inspirations, and boy was this a challenge! I've had a hell of a time the last few weeks in rl, but the inspiration post this round was so amazing that I couldn't pass it up. So this week I changed my claimed, leapt upon the generous extension on the challenge, and pulled some late nights to finish these. Phew!
For this out-of-the-box challenge, I pushed myself mostly in composition, and worked really hard to make icons that are bold and unusual in texture, colouring, and layout. I also really leaned toward the symbolism, and tried to show characters in a way that represetned their evolution in season 4. So Sansa is hidden, obscured, and altered; Dany has bold colours and subtle changes; Cersei is effaced and faceless; Ellaria is associated with blood and distorted colours; Margaery shows the gold and purple of royalty; Missandei is simultaneous near and far (always a mystery); Arya is dissolving into nothing; and Shae is chaotic, the textures covering her darkest at her neck. I really enjoyed putting hidden meanings into these as well as working on the technical aspects, and I worked really hard on them. So anyway, enjoy!
