-Alex Nelsons' Dorm Room; Wednesday Evening, March 8th, 2005-
On a train I left, from Durand on Monday morning, to come to Waukashaw, Wisconsin. It was a five hour trip filled with strangers, landscapes and much awkward sleeping. I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure that I never actually fell asleep, rather flowed in and out of slight conciousness.
Unfortunately trainstations are not my strong point, and therefore I happened to get lost in the Chicago trainstation. Luckily a very friendly Amtrak Agent guided me in the right directions.
I've found myself rather enjoying my stay here. Not like I would purposely travel to Wisconsin for four days and expect to have the worse time in my life. I've spent most of my time with Alex and Erin, who is one of Alexs' best friends. She is a riot and am stealing/borrowing a rather interesting book entitled 'Running With Scissors' from her.
I actually attended Alexs' Human Sexuality class Monday evening. It just so happened that that night was the same night that the class was planning a 'Teen Panel' on homosexuality. It was actually really interesting. There was four high school seniors that had come in to talk about homosexuality, of course, and of how it had applied in their life. Things like coming out, family & friend reactions, biological vs. choice. The fact that high school seniors came to a college class to talk about these things, I found, was really great. Shows that this generation is taking action earlier than former generations, and like our GSA advisor had said before, that this generation is the generation that'll take the fight for homosexuals to the next level. I believe her too. Sometimes I think that I should get more involved in the whole 'gay community' and the activism that goes with it, seems interesting, I'm just not sure where to start really. We'll see what the future has in store.
Other happenings this trip have been just as interesting, in a more sexual way. Last night Alex and I decided to party over at his friend, Laura and Rayens place. There just so happened to be Gordons Vodka, and silver Tequila there. So naturally the shots began and there was four very drunk, very friendly college students. We decided that it would be awesome to go to Taco Bell, drunk. Which was quite entertaining to say the least. After we got back to the Dorms, people ate their food and there were more shots. At this point we are all pretty much gone, and have lost all control I guess. To slightly summarize what happened is that the four of us, middle of the dorm floor, mini orgy. Fun times, really.
Right now Alex is in rehearsal for the college production. An Oscar Wylde play, 'The Importance of Being Earnest' or something similar to that, he plays Algernon. Slightly reminds me of Flowers for Algernon, never really liked that story, or the movie.
Maybe I shouldn't be thinking this way so soon but I have been having a conversation with Mark, Dom's roommate, about how mine and Alexs' relationship is going to work. To tell the truth I really don't exactly know, I wish I could come up with something definate but I really can't. I wish I could say that we will be together forever but it's really not that easy. For myself, I have to think of how I've never really had a solid relationship that turned out to be anything great. Sure I've had my smaller things; Kevin, Brian, Matt, Dom for example and Rex, which happens to be the best relationship I've had with a man, as odd as that is. How am I supposed to go from being relentlessly passionate to being completely faithful to someone over three hundred miles away? Riddle me that Batman...
Craig, Alexs' roommate is playing the guitar and singing at the moment. Why is it that every acoustic guitar song has to make me emotional. I'm not really appreciating that, at all really.
I leave tomorrow morning from Milwaukee to Chicago around noon I suppose. Won't arrive home until roughly nine o' clock in the evening. I'm going to see if Kt'll pick me up from the station in Durand. We'll see.
I must address the fact that Craig is now Dual Weilding Nerf guns while awkwardly dancing to MSI, I need a video camera RIGHT NOW. And now is playing the Tetris theme along with a techno version. How great...truely. Nerf gun running man has been invented.
