Well, it's that lovely time of the year again, the spring semester is finally here and I'm back in school. I'm trying to be more consistent about keeping my lj active and stuff since it's actually a nice way for me to get my thoughts together (it has taken the place of doodling in my sketchbook...weird). I was actually really psyched about starting school again, because well, after a month or so of vacay, it was starting to feel very...dull.
This semester, instead of taking on about 14-15ish units(which almost killed me by the time finals came along), I opted for the minimum 12 units instead. I know, this might seem like I'm bullshitting my way through this semester, but I'm actually not. I have Astronomy, Philosophy of Religion, Cultural Anthropology, Weight Management( Yay for PE to finally get fit without lapsing into "Procastination/Lazy Mode") and Street Dance and Hip Hop. I've only been to the first three classes I've listed today, and so far, I've come out with a good impression of my professors. I already knew my philosophy professor, Claudia, since I took her Contemporary Moral Issues class last semester. She's very demanding, but incredibly awesome in a "crazy teacher going into tangents somewhat relevant to what we're talking about and remaining hilarous while doing so" *takes deep breath* kind of way. She's become one of my all time favorite professors in my now moderate college career(there's a few more but they're the subject of another lj post :P). My Astronomy and Cultural Anthropology professors are old dudes, and just from what I've heard and experienced during the "intro" lecture today, they seemed pretty rad.
My love life is finally back in it's balanced state, and I'm feeling really good about it. I got things worked out with my long distance SO and it's awesome. To add to the mix of happiness, I just found out from my bff, Jose, that I won second place in an essay contest I entered like...a year or so ago. This makes me ridiculously happy, and accomplished, plus, it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside of success and academic badassery lol.
